In 2014, COSI turned 50. While the 40th anniversary seemed mired in uncertainty given massive COSI budget cuts and a worrying future, the 50th felt like a true celebration.

COSI used the Columbus Historical Societies section to be a new History of COSI exhibit complete with the elevator from the coal mine.

COSI had several parties on the actual anniversary inviting alumni from all decades and combined that with a big announcement of the return of the planetarium.
